Project Advisory

Getting the job set up right

Before you fund it

Business Case & Feasibility

Before a project has a budget it has an argument. We build the case — the cost model, the options, the whole-of-life numbers — so the decision to proceed is made on figures that hold up when someone tests them.

Most business cases fail on the same thing: an estimate built at concept stage that nobody revisits when the scope moves. We build the model so it can be updated, and we tell you which assumptions are carrying the answer.

Bid & Tender Support

Winning the wrong job at the wrong price is worse than not winning it. We work on the bid before it goes out — the estimate, the programme, the scope you are actually pricing, and the qualifications that protect you if the job doesn't run the way the tender says it will.

That means reading the tender documents the way the other side will read your response, and pricing the risk you are being asked to carry rather than the risk you assume you are.

Scope & Methodology Review

Most cost growth is decided before anyone turns a sod. It is decided in a scope that leaves the boundaries unclear, a methodology that assumes access nobody has confirmed, and a sequence that has never been tested against the constraints.

We review the scope and the construction methodology together, because they fail together — and we tell you where the gaps are while there is still time and money to close them.

Risk & Safety in Design Facilitation

Risk workshops and Safety in Design sessions work when someone independent runs them — someone with no stake in the answer, who will ask the question the room is avoiding.

We facilitate the workshop, record the outcomes properly, and produce a register that can be tracked through delivery rather than filed. We facilitate the process. We are not the designer, and we do not sign off design.

Contract Management

Protecting your position once it's signed

Before you sign

Contract Review

Most commercial risk is locked in before a spade hits the ground. We review head contracts, subcontracts, and supply agreements to identify risk transfer, ambiguous scope, and payment terms that create exposure downstream — before you're bound by them.

Where the terms are negotiable, we'll help you negotiate. Where they're not, we'll tell you plainly what you're accepting and what to watch for once the job starts.

Contract Administration

Once the contract is signed, the commercial work begins. We manage the day-to-day contractual obligations that protect your position throughout delivery — notices, variations, progress claims, and the payment cycle.

Most disputes start as administration failures: a notice not issued, a variation not formalised, a payment claim not properly made. We keep the record clean so your position stays strong.

Claims & Payment Recovery

When money is owed and not being paid, the commercial position needs to be structured and the evidentiary record needs to be right. We manage the claims process — quantifying the entitlement, building the record, and pursuing recovery through the mechanisms the contract provides.

This includes security of payment claims under the relevant state legislation, delay and disruption claims, and variation disputes where the other side has stopped engaging in good faith.

Dispute Support

When a dispute moves into formal process — adjudication, arbitration, or litigation — the commercial work doesn't stop. We provide the commercial and contractual support that lawyers need to run the case: the chronology, the quantum, the contract analysis, and the factual record.

We're not lawyers and we don't act as one. What we do is make sure the commercial side of your case is properly prepared — so your legal team can focus on the legal arguments, not on reconstructing the project history.

What we don't do

We don't provide procurement transformation, software or training, we don't act as superintendent, we don't design, and we are not lawyers. We work on the commercial and delivery side of your project — from the business case through to final account. If you need a designer or a lawyer, we'll tell you.

Not sure which service fits your program? Let's connect and find your solution.

The first call is 30 minutes. We'll tell you plainly whether we're the right fit.
